Introduction
This day-long, interactive, participatory course combines information about online P2 with deeper knowledge of how and when to (and not to) use various tools and methodologies, and why. An online “field trip” is supported with rich materials and tools, all connected to P2 design using actual participant cases.
Key Messages/Learnings
At the end of this training session, participants will:
- Understand the difference between simple e-based communications (email, blogs, chats, etc.) and legitimate, authentic, online P2 tools and methods
- Understand both the opportunities and limitations of online P2
- Become much more familiar with various online tools and implementation methodologies and how they can be used to legitimately enhance P2
- Be able to differentiate between tools, know how and when to use (or not) each, and most importantly, why and for what purpose
- Be able to explain to others the differences between various types of online tools and what’s necessary for any of them to be successfully implemented
- Be able to more effectively prevent the misuse or abuse of online tools for whatever reason (which can damage the reputation of both authentic P2 and the tools)
- Understand how the critical need to design P2 applies even more so when you’re considering online tools
